Origins of the Air Max 97 shoe
Nike's revolutionary Air-Sole unit became part of the Nike shoe line in 1978. In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 was for the first time equipped with a visible air cushion in the heel. Now, in addition to feeling the comfort of the Air-Sole technology, everyone could also see it in action. Two years after the appearance of a visible air cushion in the forefoot with the Nike Air Max 95, the Nike Air Max 97 arrived with the very first unit running the full length of the shoe. With its wavy lines, the shoe has naturally made waves in the world of running. And that's still the case more than two decades later.
